Great things are promised, from those with the power,
But little is delivered, to those who just cower.
Can they not see, the pain they always cause?
Are they blinded by guilt, of poverty and wars?
We let them make the choices, to help us live a life,
But they give us grief, our problems are rife.
Can they not see, the terror and tears?
Are they blinded by guilt, of the dreadful years?
We look to the future, and what it can hide,
But they take our hope, and brush it aside.
Can they not see, the torture and crime?
Are they blinded by guilt, through all this time?
It is our trust, that we give to the “bosses”,
But in return, we all suffer losses.
Can they not see, the death and dismay?
Are they blinded by guilt, or do they look the other way?
