About Gary Jones (@garyj)
Hi, and thank you for clicking through the URL on my Twitter page. I’d like to explain who I am and what I do.
My name is Gary Jones, and I am a freelance web developer based in Basingstoke, UK. I’m 29 years, a former teacher in schools and prisons, qualified as an advanced scuba diver and due to be married towards the end of 2010.
I started on Twitter relatively late (early 2008) and despite a slow start, now find it interesting. Some days it’s a distraction, other times its my main method of communicating with others when I’m working alone at home. I currently run several Twitter accounts:
My personal account (@garyj)
- This is my main account and has tweets relating to me or about things that interest me. There are no sales pitches, spam messages or other such crap on there, just genuine tweets like Twitter was meant for.
My company account – Gamajo Tech (@gamajo)
- A low-volume account which sees only occasional tweets posted about the company work, or web design/development in general.
The Basingstoke Tweetup account (@bsktweetup)
- Those who use Twitter and live in or around Basingstoke are very welcome to attend our monthly meetup events – just local people having a chat, a laugh and a drink. Putting the social back into social networking. Invites are done via the most excellent Twtvite. Tweets are sent to remind people when and where the next event is.
The Battrick account (@battrick)
- A free online cricket management game, Battrick is something I do volunteer development work for. If you play Battrick, then following this account is a must to make sure you don’t miss out on titbits of info, tweeted exclusively by the developers. Automatic tweets when new blog or news items will be active soon.
If anyone of them take your fancy, then please follow and we can interact there. Don’t know me? Doesn’t matter! Say hi anyway and lets go from there.
